Default Dropping a ZC into my car, I have some quick questions though...

Before I attempt to do this I want to know a few things. I know that by putting the DX DPFI manifold on the ZC I can get it running without any wiring I don't think which is what I would like to do just to get the car running so I can take it to school. I also plan to use the DX tranny, I know it will bolt up but do I need to use the DX flywheel or anything? I know some of this sounds dumb but I just want the car running. I will do the MPFI swap later on but for now I just need to be able to get to school and work as I'm low on cash.

you will still need to do the dist. wiring since its different on the ZC. the ZC has an external cam angle sensor on it...

and i'm not sure if the DX manifold will even bolt up the ZC head.

DX intake manifold will not bolt to a ZC accually no SOHC D series will bolt up. There was old post about the difference but cann't find it . The Cam angle sensor is on the exhaust cam so you can still use you DX diz if it bolts up right. To make it work gonna have to go MPFI sorry to say.

Are your POSITIVE? I remember someone on another board saying their ZC was DPFI because he didn't have time to do that wiring. I thought I even saw pictures of it. Unless I don't know, maybe it was a SOHC one after all.

you can stay DPFI if you use a SOHC D-series or SOHC ZC because all the intake manifolds for the SOHC are the same. ZC bolt patterns are way off you can drill you DPFI intake and use it or cut and past it but it will not bolt on with out any mods. I'm sure

Well will the DX tranny work at least then?

Honestly, how hard is it to do the MPFI swap. I see lots of instructions and they are rather simple but no one ever has any pictures.

yeah tranny will work... DPFI-MPFI wiring is pretty stright forward. Run 4 wires from the ECU to the engine and swap 2 wires at the ECU then add injector resistor box. I can help if you run into any problems. I think I can do it in my sleep.

yes the dx tranny will work. just use your dx clutch, flywheel and PP.

the hardest part of the MPFI swap is getting the 2 injector plugs and the injector resistor box.

Injector plugs? Doesn't my ZC come with a harness that would perhaps have those plugs?

Are there any parts on my D15 that will switch over to the ZC? My starter is new I'm pretty sure that will switch over. What about the thermostat, my DX one is like 2 weeks old, might as well swap it if it works? Anyone have a site or a list of which parts fit the ZC?

if your ZC comes with an engine harness then you should have the plugs. i just don't know if the motors come with harnesses, too.
