What size wheels can I get to use my existing tires?
I just bought some new tires 225/50R16 not too long ago for my Talon and now I want to buy some new wheels for my CRX and I want to use the same tires. What wheel width will fit my tires? 16" x 7", 16" x 7.5", ect....????? and what is the formula to figure it out next time?????
Tirerack.com has specification sheets for their tires, go there & pick out a tire, hit the link for specifications. One of the columns is the range of rim widths that'll work. For Yoko AVS dB S2 in 225/50-16 you can use from 6" to 8". Check out the following, too.

most wheels can fit a range of tire widths, just some fit more perfect. stupid how they do most wheels in inches and then tire width and height in mm. if you wanna do some math yourself just know that 1 inch= 2.54 cm or 25.4 mm. then you can convert whichever way you want to figure out what can fit. while many tires can fit a particular wheel, also keep in mind that the bulge of the sidewall will be affected (eg: the larger the tire width than wheel width, the more it will bulge outwards slightly). i'm sure any tire place can recommend a good fit as well. good luck
