Default AEM Pads, Hawk HPS or Axiss Ultimates...

I know this has been covered, but I need some help.

I'm running HP+ right now in the front and stock in the back. The stock rear pads are worn and I need to replace them, and I've never like the HP+ in teh front and want to get rid of them. They are too squeaky when cold and tend to grind the rotors. I don't need them...

My car is rearely tracked and is driven "aggressively" I would like something that is better than stock. Brake dust does not scare me...

Locally availible are AEM pads and the HPS for about the same price. I've been hearing GREAT things about Axis Ultimates and have been wondering if they are worth it? They would be considerably more expensive and defficult to get to Canada. What would you guys reccoemnd? In the rear I'll preobably be going with Metal Master (Cheap generic brand that is good)

Thanks

Axxis Ultimates are definitely worth it for the type of driving you want to do. Excellent cold bite and dusting isn't that bad. AEM's are basically stock replacements. I haven't had experience with the Hawk HPS, though they were my first choice.

Yes, my opinion is biased towards the Axxis pads. However, you shouldn't be disappointed.

I just phoned up cobaltfriction and they are awsome. The pads were alot cheaper than I thought. I think I was originally quoted a price for a Type R. I'll be paying the same price to have the Ultimates all around as I would have for the AEM/HPS front and Cheapies in the back.

I can't wait to try them!

Thanks!

Running the Axxis Ultimates on the street, ran them at one track day..guess that I was a little too abusive, now I have Cobalt GT-R spec.VR pads for track only.

I could have gotten the EBC Greenstuff localy, but at twice the price that I paid, and I've heard they were good, but not really what their intended purpose was (track, street, etc..)

have the ultimates on my hatch. great at first, but i think i didn't break 'em in properly or they just didn't hold up under extreme braking pressures. they squeal and hiss like pigs now and have warped my rotors. not to mention don't stop like before. think i'll try another set pretty soon and stick to cobalts recommendations for break in. i mean like to a "t"

sounds like you destroyed your pads either by abuse or improper break in, next pads you get break em in real good
