Default Taking a JDM B18C to 180whp...

I have a JDM B18C motor (95) with and OBD2 ecu. I already have an exhaust on the car. What will it take to get this motor to 180whp? I was planning to do the following:

-Skunk2 Intake manifold
-Skunk2 springs and retainers
-Skunk2 Stage2 cams
-Skunk2 cam gears
-JDM DC 4-1 header
-2.5 to 2.25 testpipe
-Kenji P28 ECU with OBD1 jumper harness
-Type-R throttlebody

Will this setup produce the results I'm looking for? Thank you!

Probably. neo1z's '98 GS-R hit 184.5whp (corrected) with pretty much the same setup and Skunk2 stage 1 cams.

Regarding injector size...

Check this out:

http://www.race-technology.com....html

You wouldn't want to run lean, since that's where a lot of the 'I blew my engine last night' stories come from. If you do up the size, don't forget the whole system (fuel pump can flow to match the injectors, regulator as well...).

I already have a B&M regulator and a Walbro 255lph fuel pump installed (left over from the turbo).

What kind of injectors should I look at? 270cc or 310cc? Do any of the available ecu programs compensate for larger injectors or am I just going to have adjust with a VAFC?

Also, should I just with a chipped ecu, or am I better off using the Hondata I have laying around?

Use 310cc. They're not that much more than the 270cc's and they won't be too big.

Use the VAFC to take fuel out if you want to use the chipped P28.

If you have Hondata and all the stuff to tune it, use it. More functionality (ie: precise ignition timing control, adj rev limiter, shift light, staged rev limiter...depending on which module you have) and more precise fuel metering.

myhatch, very impressive results considering that you didn't add on tons of stuff to achieve that. Is that a stock GSR head or is it ported? I'm running a JDM ITR motor w/ I/H/E, I baseline at 177hp/125 torque. After couple of runs I dyno 183hp and 132lb...I was running off a usdm reprogrammed P72 ecu which was just dumping tons of fuel, after running the ITR ecu now...it's a big night and day difference. I will be dynoing it soon to see how it does against the GSR ecu. By the way do you have the dyno results and where did you get it tuned at?

wassup p73 yea bro its a stock jdm gsr head. the guy who dynoed it was like is the head milled? i was like naw. anyways im running a vision spec p28 5700 rpm vtec engagement. before i got it tuned i was running way too lean. 16.0 on the air fuel ratio graph. now im at 13.4 and the power difference was day and night. i could just imagine what headwork will do. i pretty much maxed out my si pump and the fuel gauge is now resting at 47 psi with vacumm connected. i was pretty surprised to see how much torque i gained just from tuning. almost 10 ft lbs or torque and 7 whp throughout the entire power band. im happy with these results. i plan on getting a 65 mm str throttle body and a lightened crank pulley with a 190 lph holley fuel pump and back to the dyno. peace

neo1z almost hit 190wHP with his setup and Skunk2 Stage 1's. Not that hard if you have the right parts.

200wHP is on the way.

I hit 183whp with my JDM B18C (GSR obdII version)
Skunk2 intake
R throttle body
ITR intake cam
4-1 JDM header 98 SPECR 2.5"
2.5" OEM honda JDM R cat
OBDI P28 with one of my chips
