As much as I try to learn about the ITR's, I don't know why we get different front-ends as opposed to the JDM models. Some one please enlighten me in my ignorance of this. Thanks!
Well the Japanese disliked their 94-95 front end which is the same as our 94-97 frontend. They went back to the one peice headlight design. And the rest of the world kept the circle style ones because it was selling well.
It is all a marketing.

Jdm front end also did not pass safety standards. If there was a larger bumper support, it would have passed, but the jdm one is about an inch thick.
its called a JDM front end cause its a japanese domestic market (jdm) front end.
thats the way they came. except for the 94-95 that came in the USDM style.

It is possible to modify the bumper rebar to be used with the JDM front end, but most people who do the retro just leave it off. The size difference is huge

It's not real bad, but a decent amount of cutting and grinding is involved. I just did this on my JDM front and it came out perfect. It is more of a pain but in the end I feel more safe then that tiny 1" sqaure tubing.

It's safety issue mostly & I'm sure it's marketing as well but like with 90-93 integra headlights, JDM version is plastic. The cars only travel an average of 50km on the main road while in the US it's average of 90-100km. Big difference even if you hit something small.
