i was thinking of switching to a Spoon filter vs an AEM cai set up in my ITR..what kind of results will i expect. input from others with a spoon cone filter would be great..thanks

The AEM will make more power up top, but i agree the throttle response lacks, i used to have the AEM before i switched to the Icebox. The icebox is the best of both worlds.

 

i used to run AEM , but no is spoon drop in, no power gain or lose that is noticeable for me, but it's quieter.

 

I had both on my R before. I would have to say that I didn't feel too much of a differance in the throttle response but the biggest differance was the noise of the AEM. I could barely hear my Spoon N1 exhaust when I hit Vtec with the AEM. I would say that Aem did give more HP but I rather have the Spoon Filter so that I can hear my exhaust more.

 

the reason why spoon runs race cars with the factory airbox and their spoon drop-in filter is to maintain the torque, or so i have heard. i have the trust replacement filter and my brother has the spoon one (looks identical, the same company makes them both) in our dc2s. it's a simple but efficient piece.
