Default type R pistons in ls block

i am goin to purchase a b18a and the rings on 3 of the cylinders are bad, and i can get a good deal on a set of type r pistons with rings, i was wondering if the r pistons would work with the ls rods. if so im going to get the block honed and put em in, thanks for any responses

i'm pretty sure they will work. i was about to purchase some itr pistons myself, and the seller told me they will fit the ls rods -- but don't take my word for it.

The only piston that will fit on a LS rod without any mod is the B16A ones.... all others need a slight shaving on the rod in order to fit. It's not a big job and most machine shop will do it for you.

Now the question is, should you shave the rod of the pistons.... Most people go with shaving the rods but once in a while you'll hear people machining the pistons...

But I'm 99% sure that it should be done on the rod. HTH.
