Default lowering question

My friend wants to lower his teg so he got neuspeed sport springs and kyb agx shocks..my question is what are bumptstops, and does he have to worry about it since this is mostly for looks? Thanks

bump stops are those cone shaped foam pieces that are on the shaft of teh shock. I believe they are an attempt to keep the car from bottoming out too hard.
