Opinions on MOMO T-Frame Seat
I might be able to pick one up for a fair price, does anyone have any opinions on the seat? how did it feel? what about long trips in it(trips like 3 hrs -- b/c the track is that far from me)?
Also, i saw theres a universal bracket for the seat. does anyone have this seat? im guessing it sits lower than stock. the seat will be in an EK if it makes a difference

Steal-frame seats are typically uncomfortable for extended trips. I had a Forza which is very similar and after about 1.5 hours I was in excruciating pain.
Obviously everyone's size will create different opinions but between my size, the design of the seat and its position I would get bruises/sores on my back as well as lower back pain and sharp pains in ml legs. My ankles would also go numb and feel like they were no longer attached to my legs.
My "fix" was to stick a rolled up towel under my knees to elevate my leg's angle. That made it bearable but not much more.
If you have the option - save your money and get a better seat.

that corbeau looks very similar to the MOMO, hmmm... ill dwell on the seat for a while then.
I'm really looking for opinions on this very seat, i sat in a similar one but only for a couple minutes. thanks for the quick reply!

FWIW, I had about 6 hours of driving time to and from an autocross in a Sparco Pro2000 and it was so comfortable I had to fight falling asleep on the way home.

ive sat in a metal frame seat before, and i immediately didnt like it, and cant imagine it getting any better after a longer period of time, only much worse.
try getting the momo start/rookie seat instead. its a fiberglass seat i have, molded pretty well for my 165lb 5'8" asian body. could be a little tighter in the thighs tho.

For what this is worth-having spent time in both stock and track seats I can safely say that you MUST sit in one for some period of time. In fact, I strongly suggest that you get into one and stay there for up to 30 minutes. Don't sit still either. If you are racing SCCA or NASA track events (non HPDE) the rules require a firesuit-wear it as well. If the car is autocross/HPDE only then wear your usual autocross clothing. It does affect the feel and fit.
The rule books are very specific about seat types and I refer you to them as well. We use a Sparco REV in the CRX because the fit and feel is excellent for me. I used a lot of time up at OG Racing test fitting various seats. I had my choice of most everything in stock to try including a Kirkey-but the REV worked beautifully. I've been in Butler, Richardson, Kirkey and can assure you that for road racing the Sparco is the best choice for me. Then again I feel just fine in a stock car seat on an oval. See where this is going. If you plan on a long time without getting out of the car-then you must take a long sit in seat testing. My Prelude has a very doctored stock seat to deal with a fused back. Great seat for the most part, but not the best after about 4 hours driving time-need a decent break from it.
Take your time and the right one will come your way.

I also have a Sparco Pro 2000, and while it is fine for short trips, after taking a long trip (2-5 hours), I will normally be in excrutiating pain. Proof that you should make sure the seat is right for <YOU> because everybody's body is different.

I can't speak to the T-Frame, but I do have a Momo Rookie in my RX-7. It is also a fairly inexpensive seat ($250-$300) and is FIA homologated. I find it comfortable enough for most drives. But, if i don't empty my pockets, I get sore spots or cut the circulation one or other of my legs. I made the mistake of driving to Summit Point with my wallet in my back pocket, strapped in with my 5 point - my entire right leg went numb and I had to pull over, get out, and hop around for 5 minutes. Once I removed the wallet, I was comfortable for the remainder of the drive.
