Hot Lap Timer: Is the cable a regular phone cord?
I recently scored a used Hot Lap system and am trying to figure out a decent install where I can alternate the position of the receiver from one side of the car to the other.
The problem is the 7' cord is way too short for this idea (I'm mounting behind the front seat - aimed out the back side window). Is the cable supplied in the Hot Lap System just and ordinary phone cord? )Plus, I remember a replacement costing something like $7.00 which I thought was way too much)
Thanks
Greg

A regular phone cable will probably not work. Most phone cables reverse the wiring order from one end to another. You could cut one end off and put a new one on... Maybe you could track down a cable that doesn't reverse.
It's also a 6 wire cable instead of the standard 4. You might be able to find it online... I haven't gotten around to looking myself.
if you cant locate an actual cord that will work, you can just invest in a telephone plug crimper and match the wires and crimp the plugs yourself.
