Mugen Twinloop -> Quiet
Spoon N1 -> Loud as fawk.

Both pretty good choices, if you get the Spoon N1, you'd have to get a B-Pipe as well

Well the spoon n1 is going to be LOUD, and the mugen more like stock, but sounding sweet in the vtec range. The mugen is one of the best quality exhausts made, but also very expensive, the spoon n1 axle back is around $400 i believe.

Please Do Not spread misinformation.

1.) Spoon N1 is NOT that loud compared to most N1 Exhausts (90% of people who have had a Spoon N1 and a few other N1 systems will attest to this)

2.) I Posted in your last Post that the Spoon N1 is designed to mount to an OEM B Pipe (And since the Spoon, Vision, & T1R B pipes use the same Lengths and flanges as an OEM system the OEM or Spoon N1 Axle Backs will bolt onto them.)

I have the Moogen and love it although it could be a little louder and the resonator does hang quite low.

For the Integra, it's catback.

Mike M.

I know compared to other N1 systems the Spoon N1 isn't that bad, but I am comparing it to the Mugen System in which he is comparing the two.

Also, you don't need to replace the B pipe, but if you want to make the two comparable, it would be suggested to buy an aftermarket B pipe as well.

As far as Mugen Exhaust:

Integra - Catback
Civic Hatch - AxleBack
Civic Coupe and 4 Door - AxleBack

There is about a $150-200 difference between the Civic Hatch And Civic Coupe Exhausts as well. Not Sure why.

What are you talking about? Spoon, T1R, & Vision B Pipes are Made to STOCK OEM Specs (Just Different size piping and components) so Basically you can replace Just the B Pipe in an OEM system.
The Bolt On Axlebacks are The SAME WAY. You do NOT need to replace the OEM B Pipe.

If your trying to say that Your better off replacing the OEM B Pipe for Performance, thats not always true. If you have a Stock or Mildly (Just I/H/E) Modded Integra there isn't much gain from replacing the B Pipe.

What I am saying is that comparing the MUGEN Catback to a Spoon N1 Axleback won't work! Meaning the Mugen is a CATback and the Spoon is just an Axleback so if he got an aftermarket B pipe it would be easier to compare the two.

Default Re: mugen twin loop? spoon n1? Apexi World Sport?

I need to glom onto this as I have the same problem. I'm looking for something with good power specs for a mildly mod'd NA 98 USDM ITR (mostly street use with some track and autocross), but I want it to be Q-U-I-E-T.

Any additional recommendations on choosing an exhaust are appreciated. I heard the Apexi World Sport was popular, good, relatively inexpensive, and quiet. How does it compare to the Mugen?

I live outside a smog area, so I'm going to be installing a header (JDM 4-2-1?), test pipe (2.5"), H-T 2nd O2 sensor OBD II fooler circuit, and eventually an intake (Mugen if I have cash in time for the group buy).

I'd like to leave it setup so I can put a cat back in if they change the smog laws here in the future.

When I bought my R, it came with a Maxspeed exhaust.

Thanks in advance.

Why are we even trying to compare a full catback to an axleback....

because they are made by Spoon and Mugen? x 100

This is just as dumb as the 'spoon vs. mugen' threads.

If noise is your number one concern, I think you would be better off with mugen. I have the Spoon N1 with silencer, at idle it's quiet, almost stock sounding, but when jamming the throttle, it's a different story.
