Why doesn't someone........ (JDM Front End)
just make a JDM front end look-alike using a mold from the USDM front bumper? That is, make the conversion a 1-piece design that will elimiante the need for a new hood and fenders, because it just replaces the stock US bumper. I'd expect this to drop the price to about $1000 (fiberglass/urathane bumper, and JDM lights). Damn, if someone did this, I'd bet they'd be hella rich. Any comments?? -C
The fender's on the us market Integra are a completely different design It would more than likely be the ugliest thing this side of the Bi plane wing's.
I see where you are comming from, heh sorta like the CL front end, but clean it up a little, thats not a bad idea. That might look good, but it'd be impossible to tell until somone does it.
If you look at a Jdm Front end and compare it to a usdm front end the headlight's would never fir properly you would have to make the front end another foor long.
I realise the fenders are different. That's the whole point. As long as it was a clean job, ie not like the gay looking CL conversion.
here is a comparison of fenders (I sized them the best I could):
I doesn't look impossible to me.

The point is that getting your car to be customized with a USDM front bumper would require alot of bondo'ing and to be honest it doesn pay to spend all those hundreds of dollars to have the headlights fit in and then have the bondo crack up because someone is leaning on your car...i believe that the JDM conversion is sold that way because its the only way.. the CL conversion IMHO is one of th nastiest things people can do to an integra just looks like crap..but thats my opinion.. if your gonna go JDM u might as well do it the right way..

BUT........ if you put all that work and man-hours into doing it nice and clean with the bondo, you could then make a mold off of it and use that mold to make clean, urethane or fiberglass replicas (which you could then sell for hella cash, by the truckload). As long as they cost less than the "true" JDM coversion and they look good (not like the CL headlight conversion), they'd sell like mad.
Hey Calvin, maybe you sould e-mail Andy over at BodyKits NW. He might be interested in taking on a project like this.

Thanks Chris, that's exaclty what I meant. I didn't mean make a cheap one time unit, but make a mold and make thousands. It would cost around 1/3 less for buyers for sure. Hmmm.
