Your car (old) looked so clean with the stock hood - IMO get fiberglass or CF and paint it. Just looks better IMO

so you have another 6th gen hatch?
I thought you bought a 5th gen
I love carbon fiber, but for a silver car, I probably wouldnt do it
I just don't like standing out that much
but I still think it would look good though

save the CF hood money and paint the moldings and all the other stuff honda forgot to paint.. that will look a lot better than a black hood..
and u know thisss man.

I would say not to get the carbon fiber hood because the civic one is already light. Now an Integra on the other hand is heavy as hell.
Truthfully, I'm not gonna get a cf hood. I did this to prove a point..which sorta backfired.
Anyway, yeah, I bought another Ek. I had planned on getting an Eg, but there was nothing that I really liked around here. I looked and I looked forever, but nothing ever came up. So, the day before my school started, I found this. Great condition, pretty low miles and a good price. So, I got it.
To answer the other question, I parted the whole thing out. I thought that when I went to school, money was going be tight, which it is, but not as much as I thought it would be. So, I kinda screwed myself. Oh well. Starting over is fine by me. I'll do everything right this time.

so what was the point that backfired on you?
Basically, I was saying that most of Honda-Tech is filled with people who only do what the internet tells them. Before you showed up, everyone was gung ho carbon fiber hoods. Afterwards, I was trying to make the point that because you kept on throwing your opinion around, a lot of people changed theirs.
I still think it's true...but the poll isn't really backing me up
i think i just kinda woke a few people up.. they actually started looking at cars and saying "wow.. that does really look stupid as ****.. the whole car is 1 color.. but the hood is different.. holy **** what was i thinking?"
so i guess certain people realized that weight reduction isnt necessary on the street, and that mismatching body panels arent cool.. who knows?
either that or they started to notice a lot of spoon cars have painted hoods now so they "accept" it in their false JDM craze..

i wondered why fowler would 1. make a poll 2. put a cf hood on a stock car 3. buy a cf hood when he sold his old car to help with the money situation. i had a suspicion that this was a set-up type thread.
and i totally agree with you, fowler. seems like everyday there is a new 'paint your cf' advocate. if the poll was closed, i think this would have been a little bit better exercise, but the point is made nonetheless.
i have nothing against cf either way, but i do think that there are a bazillion other things that you can do to a honda to improve performance and appearance before a new hood.
