Just for informational purposes. Not looking for an explanation or a lynching from either side.

As far as the actions on track, it is obvious that the was no intention to cause damage and it was a matter of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Could the incident have been avoided? Most likely... but sometimes people make the wrong choices in an effort to win... we've all done it. Had it been two 944 Cup drivers, the one who went off and came back across would most likely be placed on probation for 13 months in accordance with our 13/13 rule. I obviously can't comment on NASA and ECHC procedures.

What I can say is that the subsequent actions in the paddock are not only uncalled for and unprofessional, they are also unwanted by those that organize and race the 944 Cup. The individual in question has been spoken to on three seperate occasions since that afternoon and informed that behavior of that nature will not be tolerated. Hopefully we can avoid both cause and effect in the future.

Looks like his view of the 944 was initially blocked by the other ITR. By the time he could see the 944 he had already committed a line. He hit his brakes but it appeared the car hooked. I don't really believe that the second leftward jerk of the cars was something he did to intentionally push the 944 off the track.


I would rule it a racing incident and leave it at that. I don't believe that the driver of the ITR would have been placed on probation if the other car was an ECHC car. I also feel pretty confident that if the other car WAS an ECHC car the driver of it would not have wanted to pursue action - which would have been required for the 13/13 to be invoked in a case like this.

 

drew what program are you using to view the video? Windows media cant find the codec for it...... wont play in divx or quicktime either.

I'd have gotten out bitching too, I don't think its that shocking. People tend to get along famously when they have similar goals and respect for each other.

 

I can't get it to play either... he may have created the file using Media Player 9 in XP, and used either "frame interpolation" or "interlacing"... which means the viewer HAS to be on Windows XP. Try re-capturing without either of these settings turned on for viewers with other operating systems to see.
Just a guess... I could be wrong.

hmm.. guess I was wrong.. although the reason posted would have caused the same issue. I'm trying to figure it out as we speak.
Appears to be a bug with Media Player 9. If anybody can use it on Media Player 9 , let me know.. I'm interested.

It was rendered one of 5 different ways but I don't remember exactly how I did it. (Was tired as hell last night.) When I get a chance I'll re-render with a different method.

I just watched and have rendered an opinion which I will keep to myself because frankly this is not a descision that should or will be made by those who were not there

we who were not in or near Adams car cannot pass any judgement as to who was at fault

let NASA decide with input from those who were there and saw everything and everyone else keep there noses out of it

I think we are always way to quick to judge, I for one am the worst at it

 

Here it is using a different procedure for rendering. If this doesn't work I'll try just using the straight capture without rendering it (will be rather large).

BTW... I'm the Yellow Integra you see who made the inside pass, and got by just before the incident.

 

You need an mpeg2 codec. I had a fresh XP/Media Player 9.0/Divx5 installation and I couldn't play it.

I found a good freeware MPeg 2.0 codec at http://www.elecard.com/ftp/pub/mpeg/.../EMpgDec20.zip

Installed it and I could play the .avi.

P.S. Microsoft sucks.

 

No kidding... add new features, and cut support for a very basic codec...
