(help!) cd head unit installation
Hey, this is my first time putting in a cd head unit. I have the dash thing out and I have all the wires hooked up, but I'm not getting any power to the cd player! What could be wrong, I've pushed in the wire connector terminals in as far as they will go into the nylon plugs on the cd player and still no luck. Whats up here?!
Make sure you have a good ground. Do you have a testlight? if so, you need to test both the red and the yellow wire going to your head unit. You should have 12v on both. There are 2 fuses in your car for the radio. One for ignition, the other is constant power for memory. The ignition fuse will be labeled "radio" in your fuse box. The constant power fuse will more than likely be labeled "domelight" or "lighter", or it could be something totally different. The second fuse could also be under your hood in another fusebox depending on what kind of car it is. Plug your factory radio back in. If it worked before and doesn't now, then you'll know if it is a fuse.
U need to supply a little more info. What kind of car/year? what kind of radio? did u use an aftermarket wire harness?
and u really should have a test light.
