Ahhh headlight disassembly trouble HELP!
My inner most headlight lense/cover on the driver side is uneven with the bumper. The lense has this dark grey, almost black-like rubber glue holding to the back of the light casing and I need to remove that glove to reposition the lense. Anyone know of any solvents that could dissolve this stuff? Arrrghh I took off the WHOLE bumper to get the light fixture out and now this one little problem is stopping me. Any suggestions or proven knowledge would be of great help.

Just put the housing in the oven for 5-10 minutes at 250-300 degrees, or until the glue is soft. BEfore doing that, though, put some aluminum foil around the grey half of the headlight housing. It'll be easy. Also, to put it back together, do the same thing. Also, put a bead of silicon on the seam, just in case. HTH
I just did the oven trick over the weekend. Believe me it still wasn't fun. I have done this a couple times with different lights and everytime I walk away saying I'll never do it again. Then again I always end up doing it again. Some people don't find it that hard though so give it a shot.
