Default Ever seen a H22 motor dropped from 6 feet and rolled?

Do you see a problem here? ****** trucking company dropped the motor, rolled it, smashed it, did whatever and then blamed us for the oil mess (oil was already drained). Motor (as always when we ship swaps out) are strapped down with metal ties to a pallet, cardboard over the valve cover so it doesn't chip/scratch the cover, and the motor completely covered in black stretch-wrap so it's not exposed at all, thus you can't tell that it's a motor on the pallet. The only visable problems are the valve cover hole, oil cap destroyed, exhaust manifold heat shield dented, and some scratch marks on the intake manifold. Some how the TPS and other sensors were not broken. Pretty ****** unbelieveable.

It's not the first time either with this particular trucking company pulling some fucked up **** like this - I'll hold off on their name for now incase some of you use them or work for them or whatever. BTW, our shop doesn't use them.... they're 3rd party prepaid BOLs so it's other shops who are using this company to pick up motors from us. I'd say 9-10 motors they pick up from us, there's no problem but every now and then you get **** like this. Fortunately for us, since it was done through a 3rd party that we don't have to file the claim with them, but still you can see what happens when you drop a H22 motor from about 6 feet and let it roll (BTW, the motor was strapped so well to the pallet that it didn't come off, nor did the pallet break).

I'll give you $5 for it!

BTW, are you sure they didn't drop something ON IT? Cuz, if it dropped, the corners of the valvecover corners and header/heatshield would be dented to hell, depending on how it fell? But how would dropping it and it rolling over put a hole in the MIDDLE of the valvecover, and chip the oilcap?

Heh... sold for five-dollah!

The good thing is that it's not or fault, nor our problem. The truck driver already acknowledged that he received it just fine, plus it was a 3rd party's trucking company and they already bought the motor from us, so it's pretty much their problem and their claim with the trucking company so they're dealing with that. Regardless of what really happenned at the freight warehouse, the motor out the outside is dirty but overall it still looks usable. The original buyer is still getting the motor so it's not for sale, but they're dealing with the trucking company for this claim.

LOL.... yeah, it's not ours... it's still the shop's who paid for it, and who had THEIR trucking company pick it up. After looking at the picts, they're still taking it but not selling that particular H22 to their customer. Dunno about the ECU.... somehow ****** motor oil go into the ECU and onto the board but we're cleaning it and will test it to make sure that it still works. FYI, it was not a LSD swap

I would say it IS your problem cause the guy who is waiting for it wont get it now and that equates to YOUR business having shitty service

good luck

WTF? Did you read the other posts? Another shop on the east coast bought this motor from us. They've bought quite a few swaps from us in the past few months. This is the 2nd time that THEIR trucking company has fucked their **** up after it's left our shop. When the driver picked up the swap, everything was perfect and sealed up, and the driver even signed for it stating that on the Bill of Lading. The reason why we can't do anything about it is because it was the shop who arranged for their own shipping, using their own trucking company, wrote up the Bill of Lading on their end, and had all of that taken care of. Sure, if the motor was fucked up on OUR end then we'd take care of it but once it left our shop, and was in the hands of THEIR trucking company (who we had no say or paperwork setting up for them - they do their own shipping), then they have to deal with it since we really have no say in the shipping once it left our shop. Not that we aren't helping - I took numerous pictures and typed up a statement and had the truck driver (same one from yesterday who picked it up) read over and sign, basically putting the full responsibility on the truck company, and I faxed & forwarded all of that info to the shop who had to make the claim. So tell me how this is our problem when we've done everything on our side to help out the shop in this situation.... we're even throwing in a brand new valve cover for them at our cost.
