car doesn't shut off in reverse and reverse lights don't come on

car doesn't shut off in reverse and reverse lights don't come on
this is after a z6 swap into a 90 dx. my reverse lights no longer work, and if you're in reverse and turn off the ignition the engine will keep running. any ideas what's up?
