my brother just got a 2002 civic and the maint req light just came on how do we turn it off? I know in my teggy I have a blue button under the dash.

don't you just insert you key or something about the same size next to it into a slot?? Its in the gauge cluster right?? I know on 00 civics thats how its done

 

I dunno, asking in the Civic forum would be a start, but if its an 02 it should be under warranty, take it to Honda.

 

You're brother should have received an owner's manual with the car. The procedure to reset the maint. light is described in it along with a lot of other things you should know about the operation and maintanance of the car.

But, basically you hold the trip odometer button in and turn the ignition switch to on. Keep holding the button in until the light resets.
