I have air horns in my 98 r and they are great, and they get everyone and everything out of the way. I don't know what brand they are because they were on the car when I bought it. But I think JC Whitney has a air horn that looks just like the stock one and its 130db's.

Hella air horns are pretty good. People get out of the way when I lean on them. But just be careful how you mount them, you don't want them to be pointing forward exposed to the elements, cos when you are driving the horns aren't powerful enough to overpower the air as you are driving. You know what I mean?

But if you are short of space the horns with the little 'trumpet end' work pretty good, like the Porsche ones.

yeah i get u about the horn having to push air against the wind. how should they be mounted? facing downwards? how do Porsche horns look? never seen one. also, how much does a set of air horns run for?

I would mount it somewhere inside the engine bay. I was using the Porsche as an example. But you could probably pick some up at a salvage yard for $20 or less. Go to JC Whiteney and see what they have, I know they have pretty decent deals and also check Auto zone and Checkers. And like I said before, if space is an issue then go with tht smaller ones, if it isn't then go for the big boys. Let me know what you find out.

You can mount them anyway you want as long as the air horn does not have to fight the wind. But if you go for the small ones it does not really matter cos they aren;t really airhorns.
