Default Stolen car - Milwaukee

Just when you think that your car won't get stolen, it does.

98 EX coupe, lowered, I/H/E, Slipstreams, cheap tires, homemade Type R Grille and tint. Stolen from right in front of my apartment. I didn't think anyone would want my POS coupe (complete with dented fender, scraped up bumpers, and crappy tint job). No swap, cheap wheels, body damage, and my daily driver - gone. I didn't think anyone would want to steal a non-hybrid EJ, but I guess I was wrong.

I've come to the the conclusion that thieves will steal anything with an "H" on the front with the exception of Hyundais. This really pisses me off. I hope they find it soon so I can either repair it or go car shopping.

Sucks bro, keep us posted if you find it later on. Didn't you have an alarm or anything?

That sucks. Hope everything works out. I have been fortunate enough to not have that happen to me. But my little brother had his Avenger stolen on his birthday. Out of all the cars he has ever owned (Avenger, GSR Teg, RSX-S, and 99 SI) the Avenger is the only one to disapear on him.

Well, the police found the car. The police couldn't tell me much. They said that it, "Had column damage, had no "tires," and was on jacks." It was towed to the Milwukee Tow Lot last night. I'm going to go see it this morning and see how bad it is. I'm gonna guess they only took the wheels/tires and maybe my intake, tools, etc. The police said the stereo was still in it – then again, it was a stock unit.

They probably thought you had a swap in there. It doesn't take much. 70% of civic have a swap so they were playing the odds. Sorry about that dude. I've gotten to the point now where i'm going to insure all my stuff, take a lot of pics of it and drive anywhere i want. That way when I do become a victim I will get most of money back and I can go do something else besides a honda.

Y'all think I'm playing.

I just took out an extra 5000 dollar ins policy on my car on top of the 1000 dollars they give you automatically.

So whatever my car is worth if it does get stolen I'll be geting 6000g back. It still doesn't amount to the money I've spent but @ least its something back as opposed to little to nothing.

I also need to fax them my paperwork on my alarm. That will lower my premiums.

Cost to take out extra ins for parts: $23 extra month
Deductions for having an alarm on my car: around $15-$20

My suggeston: If you have a lot of time and money invested in you car I suggest you call your ins. company and take some extra ins out. Small price to pay to have something to cover your *** in my opinion.

Just got back from the impound lot. The car has not wheels, they stold the intake and exhaust but left the DC Sports header. They stole my tool box, torque wrench, radar detector, and (here's the good stuff) my hands-free for my cell phone, my Rand McNally Road Atlas (free from State Farm), and two sets of gloves. The front bumper is cracked, and my OEM lip is hanging off.

I think the header is bent, considering the car seems to be partially resting on it. The car is being towed to a dealer or shop to have the front end fixed and the stock intake/exhaust put back on. I don't know what they're going to do about the wheels.

So, the damage looks minimal, so that's good. Hopefully this saga will end soon.

Do yourself a favour and install kill switches, and a shitload of them too. If you don't know how to do it or you are too lazy go and get it done at a shop, kill switches are your best friend. Even if the thieves get in they will leave without the car. 2 kill switches saved my car, another thing, which is not very practical is if your car is dumped to the ground it makes it even harder to steal with a tow truck even though tow trucks are RARELY used to steal cars with. A tow truck driver can lose his licence to tow if he get's cought, and they need to make a living off of it so it's not worth the risk.

Also, if you have an alarm and your car is FWD always make sure you park with the front end towards a wall or another car or whatever. Front end always goes first and put it in as close to whatever object it is that you can.

For those who are afraid of getting their rims stolen...this is my solution. At my work i park underground, GREAT place for thieves to jack my rims. I always park my car with the rear wheel almost TOUCHING the pole supporting the roof. Nobody will steal three wheels only!!! They can always break in and push the car so the pole is out of the way, but if you have an alarm, etc. they won't bother hopefully.

My $1 on this issue. There is tons more and it has been covered here, just search.

Yes – agreed. I had been researching kill switches last week and didn't have a chance to buy one/two. The next car (or this one if I keep it) will get them.

Very true. Sorry about your car being stolen. Hope everything works out so you can get a new car or get it fixed and back on your way.

they will find the cars in a few days, without the mods, and the wheels, it will be on blocks, or some crappy *** tires, and your deck and cluster will be gone. anything worth some kind of money, but it should get recored, now u know, about a alarm and a club and autolocker. Real sorry to hear that, best of luck to u.
