Just saw them on the NASA site as well, my Jaw dropped, H2 and H1 records were shattered!
But H3 wasn't

I'll let one of the H3 boys tell you about that one..

This would be a perfect opportunity to say that Karl never got close enough to me for us to hit each other. But I'm not going to say that because it would just be mean
.
Hey Karl. Congrats on the first win.
Seriously. The first one is always special.

The H1 and H2 new records are impressive even more when you consider the weather compared to last year. I'd estimate the track was at least 2 seconds slower than the first race last April. That's supported by the H3 cars, which are essentially the same as last years H3 cars, weren't even close to the times they had last year. Last year, Shultz qualified on pole with a 1:55.something. This year, with a better car, 1:58.something.
So, big
to H1 and H2 for breaking records despite obvious slower conditions.

Corey and Evans. Good driving definitely is starting to shows what can be done with quick H1 and H2 cars. The 1:49 also looks quite nice and shows what a good H1 car is capable of in the right hands.

Something to note as well, the HC guys had 20 other cars out there in qualifying last year vs. a much larger field of HC+SM+944Cup+Small Bore this year and I'd venture a guess that many guys weren't used to that (thinking that could throw off qualifying times). I am just suprised that Matt said times were 2 seconds slower this year as AI ran 3+ seconds faster than last year.
Good stuff, still couldn't beat the damn tank.
On a side note, starting dead last in Small Bore was a TON of fun on Saturday. The race itself could have been better, though. (Tons of contact, multiple passes under yellow.)
All in all, that was probably the most fun I've had on track. The battle with Robert was great, as it reminded me a lot of the battle with Starnes at CMS last year.
Here's a poke...
How about H2 running 1st, 2nd, and 3rd overall (ECHC) on Sunday? Where's H1 at?
Jason-
who's still waiting for a race where Chad finishes ahead of him

I didn't really think the track was slower, if not faster.. It was 100 degrees both times we went last year.. it was only about 75 at the most all weekend, which was great!! I thought the car would be slower on Toyos which are taller and about 5lbs heaver, and 50lbs of dead weight beside me.. But I am on different suspension, as well as a new cage, and I am a better driver. You can really pitch the car into the corners hard w/ Toyos, they just bark, asking for more
I would not use H3 as a gauge for your conclusion. Nothing at all against Karl and Phil
Edit: pulled out snide remark

jason....chad here under dave's name.....
1'53 first lap
next 5 laps 1.52.047-1.52.74
then hit lap traffic.....drove in grass to get around slower cars.....then passed H1 leader because he broke.....I had the win why push my daily driver anymore.....we'll see if you even see me at the expo!!!!!! only time you'll see me is when i'm lapping you and i'm in the rear view!!!!!
seriously....when i had the win i backed off....why not....and did i not give you and robert the point??? and lifted for you? i do have video of me doing that....no reason to hold the battle between you and robert up....and yes after i knew i had h1 i backed way off....wouldn't you? there are no points in overall posistion!!!
where were you in qualifying on saturday??
i think i took poll in a car i only had 10 laps in.....in the rain!!!!!
Chad-
Just take the owning. It's all in good fun
BTW, just stating the facts, dude
Oh, and I do thank you for the point on Sunday. It made it easier to get to Adam.
