need some info on motor swap
i have a chance to get one of two different engines for my car and wondered what you guys thought about either. both at ITR motors...B18C3 and B18C5. wondered which you guys prefer. i know the C3 has slightly more horsepower and torque, and came out of the 96 JDM ITR. let me know what you think.
thats what i got off this http://hondaswap.com/reference/index.php?mode=engine website. but i just found this website http://b16a.honda-perf.org/history.html and it says differently that the C5 is more powerful. can someone clear this up. I want the strongest of the two motors????
who is actually selling this b18c3, i also note on the link that they list the usdm type-r as a b18c3 also so i would trust this site too much even thought most of the other numbers seem correct.
but go b18c5 so when you tell people which engine you have you dont have to go into some long explanation thats its some rare old jdm/edm type-r that no body has heard of.

i would go with the jdm type r...cause of the slightly higher compression and it would be more fun to drive...cause you know its jdm...i mean come on, "JDM" right?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
-oh yeah never heard of a b18c3 either...

i drive an EK (96 coupe to be exact). i myself had never heard of the C3 before i read it on those pages. where is the best place to get engines from. i am located in east tennessee close to knoxville. someone told me about www.usedengines.com cause they are in north carolina and claim to have the best prices on motors. i got a quote back from them and they said they had two swaps, one being what they called a front suspension dropout for 5995 plus shipping and the other being the entire front clip for 6500 plus shipping. those prices do sound really high compared to the 4500 i have seen other places, but it does come with the suspension and everything up front. what do you guys think? i am thinking that i will just go with the C5. i am not planning on running FI, just looking to swap my motor in the next few months for one that has good power and will be somewhat reliable from the get go. anyhow where would be the best place to find these engines? keep in mind i live in tennessee and i am sure shipping is gonna be expensive.
also meant to add that at usedengines.com they offer a full 12-month warranty on their motors, not just a start up warranty like other places.....

ok so of all the motor swaps done out there no one knows the best place to get them from????
IMPORT AUTO SALVAGE IN MARION, N.C.
Hands down number one - i've seen only one complaint ever about them and it was a miscommunication to the tune of a wrong brake booster/master cylinder combo on a rear disc set-up.
1-800-962-8922 - ask for Larry Jr. (owner) or Randy.

C3 huh? and i thought i had heard it all..
to be honest i had never heard anything about a C3 till i saw it one several websites, which i guess use the same info they got from some cereal box. only difference i KNOW of in the intergas is the 96 ITR has a 4-lug bolt pattern, while the later years had 5-lug patterns. sorry dont usually pay much attention to integras....

I'll call Larry Jr. or Randy and ask them.
HMotors has sold a lot of swaps too, and there are a lot of their motors running around on H-T. If the archived search was working then I'd say do a search, but it's not yet so oh well.
there is a place in newport? tn that is a honda junkyard i got there site its http://www.evanshondaspecialist.com thats would be my place to buy the engine
