Canadian Grand Prix, anyone?
Is anyone else making the trek up to Montreal for this year's race? I am attending and this will be my first F1 race but hopefully not my last. Anyway, what is some advice from people who have been there before concerning when to get there, best viewing spots, etc. I have been to Montreal before, so I already know all about St Catherine's Street. I have general admission tickets, so I am trying to get the most out of my visit up there.
Thanks in advance.

You will want to get to the track extremely early on Sunday, like 5:00 am. Then you want to run to the hairpin, the only really good general admission viewing spot (which will fill up right away when the gate opens at 7:00). Basically, confirm what time the gate will open and arrive at least two hours before.
the race is june 15th....but the qualifiying is on friday and saturday of that weekend.
by the way, why are you not racing your crx at the april dc event...it looks like your car is green with envy!

Well, I think I might be running my CRX if Mike's car is not ready.
DSP was filling up fast, so I thought it would be easier to switch from DSP to GS than it would be the other way around.
see ya at the event.

I'll be at the Canadian G.P. as well.
I've never been to Montreal before ...and I'm flying in and will be walking.
I'm coming up to Montreal on Wednesday so I can see the city; any help is definately appreciated.

If we are still at war, I won't be going to Italy to visit family. So I would like to go to this race. It would be my 4th F1 race, as I have always gone to the Indy ones over the past couple years! GOOD STUFF!

I ordered my tickets last week. I attended the Canadian G.P. for the first time in 2000 and had a blast. It really is amazing to see the cars in person and television really does not convey how well the cars accellerate, brake, and handle. A couple of tips: buy your metro passes in advance so you don't have to wait in line at the Ile Notre-Dame station after qualifying on saturday and raceday sunday. Leave yourself time to walk around the island, especially the rowing basin because I saw the Ferrari challenge and F3000 cars up close. There is usually a section downtown that is designated for GP festivites (Rue St. Laurent if my memory serves me) There you can see demonstration cars from some teams that are visually similar to the actual GP cars. Montreal is a very intersting city so if you have the time, go out and see the sights.
