Default front lower ball joint installation and removal

When i accelerate, my front wheels will move backwards in the wheel wells. when i reverse, they will move forwards. im asuming my lower ball joints are completely toast. aparently they are suposed to have 0.5mm of play. i can twist and turn mine all over the place.

these have to be pressed in and pressed out im assuming. can you press them out with a jack? press them back in with a c-clamp? or do you have to pull the knucle completely off and throw the bad boys in a vise or what?

In my case I took both knuckles off, it is easier that way. I thought that they were gonna have to be pressed out. I figured I'd try to hit them out with a hammer. I just threaded the nut back onto the joint and gave it 5-6 hard whacks and they pop right out. Then again I don't have rust issues. Try it. Put the new ones in and give em a few taps to seat them.

this is pretty much word-for-word what i did to replace the lower ball joints. it was surprisingly easy this way...

fyi, a 5lb sledge was the weapon of choice.

i will. 88 std's arent worth **** so i wiont get anything for it. plus i have to buy my hatch back to pull my **** off of it. steering wheel is worth more than car etc. im looking for a clean hatch w/ a toasted motor to throw my **** into. kind of interesting, i was on my way back from the store after buying the balljoints when i got hit.
