ZC problem; please read
Hey, I need some advice.
The car drove fine minutes before this happened. I pulled it into my garage and put on this braided ground strap (for looks), I started it up revved it up to like 6 grand (car had oil and was warmed up). I looked in my rear view mirror and it was pouring smoke. I shut it off and put the old ground strap on (although it couldn't of had anything to do with it). I took it around the block and it was pouring white smoke (may of had a blueish tint to it). It also was running horriblely not accelerating good ect.
Well I took it home and pulled the plugs ( #2 piston was steaming a little so I figured it was a blown head gasket). I took it to my mechanic, cuz he said he'd do the work for cheap. Well I just got a call and this is what he told me.
He pulled off the head and said that #2 and #3 cylinders were full of oil (pretty much ruling out rings cuz it ran fine up until this event and both rings would of had to of broke at the same time, not likely). He said that he also doesnt think its the head gasket because there are no traces of oil in the coolant or anything..
He said he's kinda stumped right now because he'd hate to replace the headgasket and the problem still not be fixed. He's taking the head to a buddy's machine shop to check it out tommorow.
Does anyone have an advice I could give him or more info about the ZC that would be useful because I've told him its a 88 ZC out of a 88-91 civic/crx from japan and thats its similar to the 89 integra motor, but not identical.
thanks

When I first installed my ZC I had the same problem....white smoke....I never did find out what it was...it just went away. Oddly, mine wouldn't rev past about 3 grand when the smoke was there...
yeah, mine had mad white smoke too ... though it was because of all the crap from the zc i had in it before blowingto ****, so im sure it left a fair amount of coolant/oil in the exhaust, mine went away after driving for 25 -30 mins
