shaving rear wiper+washer squirter
would this be difficult to do, and do you guys think i should do it?? i think it will give it a nice clean look, but just wondering how much i would need it instead of having it gone..
hey dude i have a 91 honda crx si and i shaved mine. its not hard at all and you will not miss it. iit makes the cars apearance look better also. i took the wiper motor out too and it weighs a lot. you will not miss it.
I removed mine in my 85 CRX Si recently. I never used my rear wiper, it never worked right anyway. There are 3 bolts holding the motor in, and one connector going to it. Then on top, there are 3 nuts on the wiper boot you need to remove. My wiper and motor probably weighed about 5 pounds. I went down to Auto Zone and got one of those tire patch kits and used the patch on the hole on my back hatch. It looks clean, but it didn't save a lot of weight. I never used mine, so it worked out good for me.
do it!!!!!! or i did!!!! i have 1986 crx si. and i could not see out the freaking back anyways so no loss just a gain!!!! looks hell lot better if you ask me!!! and you save some weight along with electricty that runs back there!!!
has anyone doine the rear squirter above the window also?? i plan on doing that..i probly wil have to take the roof interior out and shave it that way..i was thinking about taking some sheet metal and putting it on the bottom of the metal with some 5200 glue or somthing..will that hold good so i can bondow the top..i was planning to do the same with the rear wiper...
hey bro. to take out that jet over your rear hatch. it a clip type. you know how the 1's on your hood come out??? well it's the same thing.
get your fingers and pull it straight out till it stops. then gram some needle nose plyers and sqeezs the 2 little clips and it should come out. there is a hose that hooks to it . but you can not get to it by takeing the head liner out. this i know becuss i just did mine. the hose runs through your roof or some ****. far as makin a backing to bondo it. Sorry bro i can't help you there cuss i don't do body work. but i am havin the same thing done as you with the jet and the wiper. I am sure it will look much better and smooth. And to top it off you lose weight & the hot wires to the wiper can be taken out witch allso help. HOPE THIS HELPS YOU

i took mines out and it even snows here in MD, i still dont miss it. Went through a huge snowstorm and it didnt bother me in the least, my rear defroster works like a champ, just had that blastin all the time and it took care of snow.
Heres how I shaved it.
1. remove rear wiper and motor
2. get a flat piece of metal that is bigger than the hole, cover the entire thing with jb weld, go underneath the hole and push the plate onto the hole to cover it but from the underside, press it hard and get some duct tape and tape your plate onto the bottom just to hold it while it dries. once it dries, simply place some body filler into the hole just to smooth it out, sand and bam, shaved.
