Hey guy's im contemplating either getting and after market muffler and getting a local shop to do a catback system for me. the muffler will cost me $170 Canadian and the labour and crush bent piping will cost me $200 to put it in. So im lookin at $370 Canandian. Or I can go with Dynomax super turbo system for the car which comes with 2 1/4 inch mandral bent piping and a dynomax super turbo exhaust, that will cost about $ 300 canandian. What should i do?? Please help me! Thanx 91 Honda Civic

Why dont you get a real exhaust such as atleast a tanabe or greddy? Screw the gay muffler and crush bent piping! Unless you are ready to lose torque and have it sound like ****. Just my two cents.
do the dynomax muffler w/ mandrel bent piping

where'd you guys get it from?
also, what's the tip look like on these dynomax systems? (anybody have pics?)
Edit: I found the diagrams on their website (www.dynomax.com) and I like the stock looking dual outlet, but it looks like it only comes as a rear section, not a cat back! those of you who have one, what are you doing for a mid-section?

thanks for the tips. i didn't think that the dynomax is all that, but i don't have it installed just yet. i bought a dynomax muffler at the local autoparts store for $40. Now, i think i should get it installed instead of returning it.

I don't think the Dynomax is a cat back. It think its from the mid-pipe back. If you look on the Dynomax web page, thats all they show. It also says its the same part# for the Civic and CRX, which have different length mid pipes.

I just went through this for my CRX...
Dynomax is axle-back. You have keep the factory mid pipe or replace it with a custom one, which you would want to be mandrel bent, which adds to the cost, etc.
I ended up buying a Pacesetter cat-back for $149, throwing away the muffler and tip and putting on a Magnaflow for $60. I know pacesetter is crap but I plan to upgrade the mid pipe next winter so I just needed a cheap way to get the correct piece of 2" mandrel bent piping delivered to my door. The only local shop with a mandrel bender wanted $$$ and couldn't even do 2".

it cheap but its really good stuff actually that doesnt make you sound like you have a fart cannon on your ****. IE: i wont shoot at you when you do rice bys @ 4am in front of my house b/c my hatch is faster than yours
where can i get this exhaust. sounds cheap! but something is better then nothing.
I'd also like to know from someone who has this exhaust, does the muffler have enough quieting power to handle hushing up a d16a6 with header, test pipe, and no resonator. I know i didn't word that right at all, cut me some slack, I'm tired!
I'm not looking for whisper quiet, but enough so when I'm not getting on it the cop driving next to me will be none the wiser.
