need tec info on what it takes to run a car

can someone tell me who has, or where i can get the dos or don`t on how to spec out a car for roadracing, the tec guide is what I`m looking for. For scca

Find someone who races in SCCA now. Go with them to a race and see exactly what is going on there. Look at all the different cars and classes. Decide on what class you want to race in then get a rule book and read all about that class. Do this BEFORE you do anything to the car.
