Driver side door cracked, What kind of metal is sheetmetal made of?

Yeah, I know weird quesiton, but my driverside door cracked where the outer sheetmetal meets the inner sheetmetal at the door jamb. Gotta have it welded together, but my friend says he needs to know what kinda metal it is. Any idea guys?

steel body...not sure the exact composition of the steel though....
