Default Cheap 97-98 ITR shift ****

Not sure if this goes in ITR or Best buy but:

The Prelude shift **** with red stitch is the same as the 97-98 ITR shift ****. It is only $30 and comes with a shift boot. It says it is leather but it is not. I kept the **** and sold the boot on ebay for $20. $10 ITR shift **** ain't a bad deal!

'ITR' Shift ****

Will the Prelude boot fit? I am intrested in a 97-98 **** for my 01, however Id want it to match up correctly with the boot (I think it has a clip or something that holds the **** right up to the boot?)

It's not quite the same as an ITR ****. A prelude **** is slightly larger and the leather is a little softer. It's a good replacement though at a good price.

that looks identical to my stock ****......

and for the record, the boot seperates so you can use your stock boot.

I compared it to the original **** on my 98' ITR that was beat to ****. It was EXACTLY the same. Maybe the **** on my ITR was from an accessory prelude too? Doubt it but I am the 4th owner so you never know.

I've got a feeling yours was not the original **** because my **** is slightly different (OEM '97 ****). Very similar though. I stumbled across this site before too and saw it for $30. Post some pics of your new one if you can.

Hey Markpaco, thanks for the info. I just received my **** and I also ordered an oem type r shift boot with red stitching and installed it the other day. Had to remove the boot from the plate and trade the shift boot ring to the the new type r boot. Looks great too!
