Default 92-95 zc

has anyone ever put one into a 88-91 civic? Could you just use a si tranny, si distributor and 88-91 exhaust cam sensor with this engine to make it work? There was one for sale today and i was just wondering if it would be worth the hassle.

no usdm vehicle ever came with a ZC. Is that what you're talking about?
is it's a usdm 92-95 motor, yes plenty of people have put them on there cars.
just explain your question a lil' bit better

i know which one you're talking about, i've seen an obd1 hydro tranny ZC in an 92-95 hatch locally.

to put in in an 88-91, i believe you'd have to convert over to obd1, OR use a 88-91 ZC distributor and pre-obd injectors. and of course a cable tranny of some sorts.

but don't quote me on that, i'm not an OBD expert

yeah thats what my friend thought, i saw a very clean one for sale and i was contemplating getting it, but it seems like to much of a hassle, maybe ill just go b16 because zc's are pretty scarce.

yo chad, lemme clear this up for you ... all that you would need to make sure would work with that motor are as follows ... would the cam angle sensor and distributor off of a pre-obd zc bolt up to the obd1 zc motor? because other than that, any d series tranny will bolt up to it, but the only concern was if it was possible to conver that obd1 zc to pre-obd. more specifically ... will the exhaust cam have the correct notch in it for the cam angle sensor off the regular zc?

I have a OBD-1 ZC in my OBD-0 CRX....runs fine and actually is rated at more HP then the OBD-0 ZC. I think 5HP more....130 vs 135....

What you need to do is get a dizzy and cam sensor from a OBD-0 Teg or ZC....plug and play man! As far as the tranny, use the SI one.
