cheap cai on ebay worth it?
Ive personally tried both and didnt feel much of a difference between the cheapo and the aem. But the aem, you are paying for the name and quality. But performancely speaking, cheapo works almost as well.
Just get the ebay one. If there is a difference, I doubt it's more than 1 HP...
I got one and the quality is pretty damn good for that price.

There's nothing wrong with Ebay CAI's. Just make sure you get one that 's the proper diameter for your car. If you're in CA, you might want to go with the AEM, since its CARB certified.
indeed. longest its not PCV and it fits, it more important to just having a great filter the rest is just pipe. coating can be easily taken care of as well with ceramic paint.

I think FrostWhiteDC4 lives in California. I believe Fountain Valley is in SoCal. Just to be safe, I'd go with a Carb legal intake.
In terms of power, there's no difference. I bought a cheapo SRI off ebay for like 20 bucks, and bought my own K&N filter for it. No difference between that and a $130 AEM.
EXCEPT .. the AEM has a mounting bracket to screw into one of the holders your stock airbox used. The cheapo one off ebay had NO mounting system whatsoever. It basically just hangs off the end of your throttle body. I didn't like that at all, so I had to rig my own bracket to secure it. Still worth it for $100 less though.

yeah i got my ebay intake right online, it is difinitely worth it. however the filter sucks, plus there is carb sticker on it. my friend got pulled over with the intake, and we need to take it to a ref.
i found this ebay cai for around 50 i think, the diamater of the piping is 2.5" is that good? or is that the basic size.
