Default Advice on shipping a tranny

I bought a GSR transmission off of a guy in FL. Today, I got this message in my PM inbox:

Hey blueteg, I have some problems.
I've been trying to ship the tranny through FedEx.
The problem is that the crate it came in isn't in the best visible condition. So the guys at FedEx are really leery of taking something like this in. And I may think UPS may say the same things to me.
To be honest, I don't want to build a new crate to fit this tranny in. Nor do I want the hassle of loading it in my car, unloading it at the shipping center, and then have their guys tell me they won't take it.
If you know of any alternatives or freight shipping companies you recommend, please let me know. Otherwise, I will send you back your money because this headache isn't working out for me. Sorry for all this trouble.

Do you guys have any input or advice?

Go to a Best Buy and see if they have a computer monitor box available. If possible, ask them to keep the strofoam inside. Styrofoam is great for heavy objects like a transmission. Screw crates.

Shipping should be around 40-45 Fedex Ground.

better yet, tell him to go to wal-mart late at night when they're restocking, and grab a big enough box, and ship away the happy tranny to its new home.
