How much does the engine alone weigh, (this includes block/head and all the little gadgets, what it does not include is the transmission) , basically what i need to know is, is it possible for me to undo the transmission and then pick up the engine by myself or with a partner with just our hands?

 

Yes. If you're both pretty strong it can be done. I picked up my brothers ZC with a friend of mine. But we're both medium size guys.

 

does anybody know the weight on one of these engines?

 

According to my Helms manual, the engine dry weights is 218.9 lbs.

 

its not heavy at all if the tranny isn't on it i can move it (not lift the whole thing) myself. 2 people to carry it and it fit in the back of the toyota too

I lifted mine out of the trunk of my sisters 96 civic 4 door and carried it to the side of the house. If I were you, And you're pulling this out of the engine bay. I would get a friend and some welders gloves. It'll be hard to get a good grip on it and barehanded it hurts like a ***** after holding it a few seconds...

 

Yup, it's not too bad. I can pick up an A6 myself and move it around, and I'm not all that strong. 2 guys should be able to move it with no trouble.
