88 crx b18c swap alternator ?/problem
I need to know can I use the B18c1 alternator which is OBD2 with my OBD1 ecu? I am converting from OBD0 to OBD1 I am using my 1988 crx si engine harness
I need to modify the plug if I can use the alternator, but the problem I am having is the wires on the plug are different colors.
(if you were looking at the plug with the clip on top)
OBD0 plug
BLUE--------------WHITE
WHITE/BLUE---BLACK/YELLOW
OBD2 plug
WHITE/GREEN---BLACK/YELLOW
WHITE/RED-------WHITE BLUE
Does anyone know what wires I match up to what?
I tried to put my OBD0 alternator on but it just wont work does anyone have any suggestions this is the last thing I need to do to finish the swap.
thanks

No your obd0 alternator will not work because it won't bolt up. Trust me, I've tried it. All you need to do is resolder the wires and it will work. I've gotten a obd2 alternator with my swap and I was mad at first but then what could you do? I looked at the manual and just solder the wires from my 91 crx si engine harness on to the alternator. If you have the plug then it would be better and cleaner. Email me at xonglor10@attbi.com if you need more help.

You dont even need to rewire it, unbolt the sheet metal that covers the plug on the alternator. Then swap the obd1/2 style circuit, with the crx circuit.
makes it a real clean install. If you dont know whut im talking about i can provide pics

read my post above.
this works on a ob2 alternator. just use the obd0 circuit that is on the old alternator. nobody will probably do this but it makes things super easy. so go and butt connect it if you want.
