Here are some pics of the Type2 Carsound Cat I bought from the Hybrid Garage for my R header (when I finally get it!). I bought it for $119.99/shipped and it already has the o2 bung and flanges. I also got the hardware from Dave, aka SMSP.

Thanks to Dawn Teo for all her help at the Hybrid Garage!
Hopefully the pics work from Imagestation:

I bought mine used and it didn't come with any gaskets.... so right now I don't have a gasket between my cat and exhaust. Should I get one and where can I get one. IT doesnt seem to be leaking at all

It's hard to say about the cat since I also installed the R header, which made a very noticable difference. I haven't beed to the dyno yet so I don't know how much of a diff it made. But the power from about 5k rpm's and up feel great. It's a lot smoother due to the larger JDM R header.

Try NAPA. Make a cut-out of the flange and bring it with you to make sure you have the right size.

i plan on getting a jdm 4-1 itr header and 2.5" carsound cat too... i have a 99 gsr. on hybrid garage, what length cat did you buy? there are 3 different sizes for a 96-01 gsr. also, why are the cat sizes different for a "96-01" obd1 gsr than an obd2 gsr? and this cat bolts right up to the header and exhaust, right? no custom anything needed?

Yeah it's confusing. Best to just give them a call.

Isnt the thing on the left the 02 sensor, if so wouldnt that be the side that connects to your header (im not correcting you) im jw cause ppl are asking wich side is which.

I got a 54306. That's probably why I had to cut my b-pipe. It was about 2-2.5 inches too long.

Yes, I believe the one I have has the 2.5 Inlet and 2.25 outlet. But I forgot to measure it. Next time I'm under the car I'll have to do some measurements.

The o2 bung goes to the b-pipe side. The JDM R header has an o2 bung on the end of the header itself. So for OBDII cars you have places for both sensors.

Not sure how much the cat changed the tone, but the R header emits a lower throatier(sp?) tone. It's pretty sweet!
