Default A question on exhaust gaskets/oil filters/and lemon laws...

Hi guys,

I have a quick question or two.

I need a new gasket for the connection of the B pipe and axle back portion of the exhaust. Would I be able to get one of these at a local honda dealership? In other words, are there any honda cars with the same size exhaust piping as the R (stock piping)? What should I specifically ask the guy for at the parts counter?

Also, honda oil filters are the same on late model tegs, civics, and accords, right? I would go to the local acura dealer, but the guy there is a complete putz and I don't feel like dealing with him.

Finally, a friend of mine is having trouble with a car she bought 3 weeks ago (used VW cabrio under warrenty)...sounds to me like the transmission is going at 11,000 miles. They won't take her car in to look at until next week, and she feels very unsafe driving it...the car will sometimes just not go! She called customer care and they said they couldn't do anything...Does anyone know of a good resource on the web for lemon law knowledge, refunds, etc.?

Thanks a lot guys.

On the third question:
http://www.findlaw.com

Good law resources. Plus, here is what I would do. First off file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau ASAP! This way things get rolling and the dealer will know you mean business. Next, take the car to 2 other un-related mechanics. If you can find VW dealers that will be honest with you, go there, otherwise, just make sure you get a local certified mechanic to look at it. I would also file a complaint with the state attorney generals office.

IF worst comes to worse and the dealer is really screwing her, contact your local Bar Association who will most likely have a lawyer refferal service. This will get, usually, a 30 minute consultation with an attorney who is licensed (and in my experience, whenever I have contacted my local Bar Assoc. for attorney, I always get EXCELLENT attornies) and experienced in whatever area you need help on. This consultation only costs $15-$30 and you have no obligation.

Jeff...order the gasket and filters from A&H. tell them Jeff Taylor sent you and your gonna have Chris Heershap pick themup for you. This way you'llhave them prior to saturday. A&H is literally like 1 mile from Chris's job and he passes it everyday on the way home from work.

Cool lip,

Once again, thanks!

I just ordered all my stuff...3 filters, a gasket, spring bolts, MTF. The guy on the phone said to me..."Yah, Chris helps everyboday!" Heh heh.

Also, yesterday I picked Chris up $75 in gift cards for home depot. Do you think that is sufficient?
