Default HELP! Theft attempt on my R likely.

I got a call today from a guy that I haven't talked to in over a year or so (guy in my highschool class). It seems that he is friends with a dude (works at a speed shopt) that apparently knows guys that steal cars. Well he found out today that they have seen my car in the city (I have to go there to do anything cool) and a few of them have followed me home and know where I live. They were quoted as saying "about 50-60mi north of here" which is exactly where I live. That and the fact that I'm about the only PY Type-R in the area and definitely the only one in my county. Unless this guy that I haven't talked to in forever has decided to play a major prank on me I think I have reason to be worried.

What do I do?

Watch your car carefully, park it in a garage! Sleep in it with a gun, and phone. Pray and hope your friend is lying. You could try reporting it to the police and have them drive around your neighborhood a few times night. May or may not work. Just be watchful, and if possible PARK IT IN A GARAGE, or sideyard, lock it up somewhere where they have to work really hard to get to it, park it in a sideyard or garage, and park another car or two behind it if possible, so they cannot tow it away or drive it away.

Have a talk with your local law enforcement authorities.

Well I don't live in a neighborhood. I'm out in the country down a 2 lane county road. I live down about 400yrd driveway. At the beginning of my driveway is my grandparents old house (both are gone so its empty) and it does have a garage. The only thing is my 3000GT SL is torn apart inside of it. I could pull it out but even if I parked it in there it would be out of sight/hearing if someone tries to steal it. I would much rather it be down here by my house so my dogs can give me a warning. My whole property is enclosed by fence so the only way in/out is down my driveway.

Keep your dogs by the car.

Get a fatty chain and chain the car to a tree.

Keep your dogs near the car. If you think it might happen one specific night, then sleep in your car. Also, try parking your car in with the other cars you have. So basically they would have to push the other cars out of the way to get yours out. Also, you might want to store it at a friends house for a little while till it cools down.

<---who thinks it's sad that Integra owners have to worry so much about their car

Do like I'm doing after my thef attenpt .
Keep your R locked in the garage and go to work/class in your bicycle.
This way you keep your R, save on gas and do a good exercise.

Note: My work is close to home.

I can't block it in (not enough cars) unless maybe I park it up against some trees. I do have tons of guns, however that really won't do much in preventing the theft. I'm thinking of doing a little detective work. Might be possible for me to get some names then my mom (AO of the FBI) can run them and see what comes up.

I actually dont feel comfortable leaving my car at home even in a locked garage while I am at school 60 miles away from home. IF theives are going to steal your car, they know your schedule, and they know that you're going to be away at school 60 miles away, and they got that whole entire time to break in teh garage and take the car. I rather have my car with me at school/work so i can keep an eye on it.

I would call the local PD, if you are semi electrically inclined, wire up a camera to your vcr and have it continoulsy play, we did that for a friend that lived in a appt, and it helped capture the theives who tried to steal his car. Try to leave a light/tv or something on at all times, to show that you are awake. Try to get the 3000GT out the garage, and park it behind the R, wire up a police siren to your existing alarm (if you have one) so that if they do break in, there is no way you can sleep thru it (haha i should know, i have one )

There are a lot of things you can do, but i want to refrain from posting it publically. PM me for more ways to help prevent theft.

Has it occurred to ANYBODY on this board that the very people looking for ActiveAero's car may be reading these posts and taking note of all of these "suggestions?" Some of the members need to realize they are actually helping thieves instead of helping the R's. H-T is not a bubble, and anybody, scumbags included, can sit back, read the posts, and take notes on everything we say. Think before you post, that is what the IM function is for.

imo considering where you live they probably wouldn't touch it...they'll wait till it's at the city/away from the home.

a huge driveway is a major turnoff for theives...atleast I would think so. especially w/ dogs, guns, etc.

it's obvious your friend has some convictions...see if you can have him reveal the names of the people.

connect your car with electricity with a switch. whoever touch it, will die instancely. don't forget to turn off switch when you go to your car. this is very important

I wasn't directing that at you per se, but too many people on this board have really big mouths and don't think about the ramifications of their posts. I'm sure you agree.
