Powerstop cross drilled rotors and why they suck...
i have had these bastards on my gsr in conjunction with aem pads and goodridge ss break lines for almost a year and a half.
i broke them in for the first 500 miles and they felt good. after that i started in with the 100-0 mph stops and they really brought the car down to a halt with the quickness.
after about 2000 miles of normal driving (after my initial harsh testing) i noticed that i would get some "flutter" under normal breaking. basically, i'm assuming they were warping (i use a torque wrench to the correct setting in a star pattern on my lugs).
that upset me and then yesterday i was doing my tranny oil change and i noticed on the passenger front rotor i had some hairline cracking coming from some of the holes.
essentially they are gay and i am going to get some brembo blanks with new aem pads and see if they are any better.
powerstop......ghey

nissin makes aem, so i figured i would get something less harsh for the rotors. maybe i will get something a little more aggresive with the blanks.
I personally would get something more aggressive, that isn't harsh on the rotors. I suggest Axxis Ultimates.

any rotors that are drilled into sucks.
such as KRP rotors.
krp buys brembo blanks and then drill the holes themselves at their shop.
if ur gonna gonna get anything, and dont wanna pay for the real deal, just buy thoese slotted rotors. they wont crack.

When I have the $$ I'm also going to try the Axxis Ultimate pads. I really liked the Porterfield R4S pads but they are expensive. So I'm trying a new alternative per Andie's recommendation.

I have brembo blanks with hawk pads and auto-x every other month or so. I like the setup a lot and have had it for about a year now. Just wondering, I know drilled rotors are more prone to crack, but what about slotted rotors as someone stated above? Are slotted worth the price over brembo blanks? Thanks.
Slotted are less* prone to warping and/or cracking because they dont drill a hole through it and make weak spots..Brembo drilled arent really "drilled" the're casted with the holes so that everything is uniform with no weak spots...(well thats what they say...)
I wonder if these rotors are any good: http://www.turboimport.com/catalog/integra.htm
They are slotted/dimpled. Anyone have experience with these?
