Default Automatic ECU/ Manual ECU(Need Help Quick)

I have a 4th gen. accord. I just swaped a h22a into it but the ECU that was sent to me was for a manual and I have an automatic. Is there any difference? My car is running fine but would it be better if I had the auto. ECU? Thanks for the help!

it wont matter since your car has a seperate transmission computer.

but i would get an auto h22 ecu because im sure the shift points are different.

Keep The ECU and Find A h22 TCU
that is the tranny controller that controls the shift points.

excellent point Mike.

hmmmmmmmm........i bet a PCD ecu (accord euro r, and probably the type s lude) with an OBDI h22a tcu would be great for us OBDII people who dont want to swap to OBDI.

not that i dont want to. but its near impossible for us to do an obd2-1 swap
cause its mor ethen a harness with us... its rewiring our tranny to read an obd1 tcu

not the ecu. were talkingbout the TCU
that is the computer that controls your tranny

the auto ecu will do really nothing for you
the tcu will have you shift a bit faster and are shorter gears

WHOA!!! Two things. One im 100%, sure of, the other im 99% sure of.

First, the tcu doesnt set the gear ratios, thats the tranny gears themselves. It does however set where the trans shifts, how fast it shifts and how hard it shifts.

Second, the diagnostics shouldnt matter as far as the tranny and the tcu goes.
It uses it's "fuzzy logic" in the Grade Logic Control System and various sensors from the engine and transmission (vehicle speed, throttle position, engine coolant temperature, brake switch, and shift lever position) to determine shifting. Which is why Protech Transmission and Level10 can hack it and adjust the program.
Now, as far as i know the OBD1 and OBD2 use the same logic system. There just in different packages.

The OBD1 seperate tranny control SHOULD interact with a OBD2 ecu, provided it's wired right.
Just some knowledge and food for thought for everyone.

how would we go to obd1?
wouldnt we physically ahve to wire the tranny and sensors to run straight to a TCU and read that?

and then have the car still only read the Ecu by itself?
lots of hassle and money to me. more then just a harness.

ohhh yeah, yeah, yeah, i see what your saying now, sorry.

yes, you would still have to hardwire from the A/T to the tcu.
but with a helms manual for the tcu and the transmission it wouldnt be that hard, as long as you know how to do some wiring.
i dont think it would be that hard to do, because the obd2 harness from the car (minus the wires that goto the transmission) would fit into the new obd2 manual ecu. then just wire the A/T wires to the obd1 tcu.

why would you still use a obd2 manual ecu? if your doing all that why not go obd1 so you can use hondata or chip?

because i could stay obd2 and run the Techtom map editing program, one of the few things that work with obd2. check it out here: www.technosquareinc.com
and swapping to obd1 would kill me when inspection time comes around.
