Shocks break-in advice - They will only work right if you season them. The process is long and involved. here's what I suggest. Drop your car off at my house on Saturday and I should have them fully seasoned for you by the end of the auto-x season in October.

but seriously - shocks do not have to be broken AFAIK.

Shock settings are car, driver, and event dependent. Start soft and only go harder if you feel you need to. If you're not sure if you need to then you probably don't need to.

Regards,
Alan

Alan, you're going to get me in trouble. My coworkers start getting suspicious when I break out laughing for no apparent reason.

Ditto on the LOL... I just get, "what's so funny". Doesn't seem to translate well to the "un" racer crowd.

No specific break-in period however I'd suggest that you start out in the low end of the adjustment range first. They are designed to be run at the minimum setting on a basically stock spring/suspension car to give the ride and handling that the KONI engineers felt the car should have. If you are installing them with a performance spring, then an initial setting of 1/2 to 3/4 of a turn from min is a good start. Try it like this at first to get a feel for what you have and what the car is doing. Don't get caught in the "if firm is good, them firmest is best" trap and go straight to max as it is not true usually as these things are already real performance shocks at the zero setting. After driving a bit, feel free to experiement with your own preferred settings but giving it a shot first at the low end of the range will be better in the long run. Theis will help you establish an good balance and baseline to tune from. Enjoy.
