Default Q about stock component speakers

I'm looking to replace the stocks with some real components with a passive crossover. Do our cars have a built in crossover somewhere? When I opened up the door there isn't one visible. So if there isn't I can hook my crossover up to the stock wiring right? Thanks in advance.

try the security/stereo forum. I think they can better help you.
