Default My brake lights are stuck on?

I got home from work tonight, and shut my car off, and as I got out of my car I noticed that my brake lights were on. Any ideas? I disconnected my battery for now.

thats a hard one you can check to see it the bolt on the brake arm that pushes on the sensor is there or check the sensor to see if that the problem or its unpluged. check all the bulbs to see if they are good to

Ok, will check that. A friend told me that there is a brake switch that I can check. Where would this be located?

yup there should be a little switch behind the brake pedal, it pushes in when you press the brake so that your brake light will turn on. it may have been knocked out of place so check there first.

It's actually pushing it while you're not touching the brakes. It releases the switch when you press the pedal.

But yeh, it's right behind the brake pedal, the actual lever part, not the foot pad. Get under there and push the pedal with your hand, you'll see it. Good luck, hope this fixes your problem. My brake lights don't work at all, only the running lights. I've tried everything..

LOL. Well you know your SH*T. Thanks again. The plastic piece that holds the switch in broke off. Has anyone rigged something up before? Any ideas on what I can do. I will probably just rig up a bolt in the place of the piece that broke off. Anyone know what size I will need?

Flat plastic golf shoes spikes work well, just have to get the right screw size. I just replaced mine a couple of months back. Also used the same thing on the clutch-ignition interlock switch a year ago. Hope that helps.

Did you say you need parts? I have the complete pedal assembly from a 90 HF sitting here. Drop me an e-mail if interested. On-topic: All hardware is metric and much of it is available from the dealer still.
