How Hard To Tighten The Clutch To Flywheel Bolts ASAP!!!!!!
Ok I am half way through installing my new tranny/clutch. I am in the process of attacing the clutch to the flywheel. I already torqued my flywheel bolts to 85lbs I need to know how hard to torque down the clutch to flywheel. I was under the impression of just as hard as I can with a nrmal rachet. Thanks a lot

umm, I believe it's 35 pounds, but it could be 50, but I'm pretty sure it's 35 pounds

Nope, no hard core tools needed. On mine, I had a little pipe around an allan wrench and just tighened it until it felt like 35 pounds
Hey I tightened the bolts down to 35lbs. I read on another site thats the proper pressure. Thanks for you help. All I have to do now is slap the tranny on the car and tighten the bolts will have it down by tommorow night.

okay lots of conflicting info here. Go buy a Hayne's manual for about $12, it will list the specs you need to know. Stuff like this you want to do it right. We tightened the bolts on my friend's clutch to proper specs, tightening in steps in a star pattern around the pressure plate. I would look it up for you but I don't have my manuals with me.

I installed a new clutch a few weeks ago and I seem to remember that the Helms manual said 19 ft./lbs. I checked c-speed and they stated 24 ft./lbs. ( http://www.c-speedracing.com/howto/b...ch/clutch2.php ).
tighten untill the whole clutch is starting to turn.
. I used a tool which holds the crank pulley when tightening my PP bolts. If I wouldn't have done this, then my bolts would have not been tight enough.
A tip for you guys when tightening the flywheel bolts or the clutch pressure plate bolts...
To hold the flywheel, the manual shows a special tool used to lock the flywheel.
If you don't have the tool, just have someone with a ratchet and cheater bar (pipe) hold the crank bolt while you torque
