Whistling Sound Coming From A/C
This has been going on for quite some time with my '98 GSR. It happens when my A/C is on and I'm sitting at idle. Every so often (I think when the compressor kicks in) the car makes a whistle that is kind of high in pitch. It sounds kind of like a slide-whistle. The sound only lasts a couple seconds, but occurs every few minutes. Anyone else experiencing this?
not a belt squeaking noise?
sure you don't have gremlins? haha....
i know when i switch the heater controls to defrost or floor etc...sometimes i can hear a whistling sound from inside the car from the ducts opening and closing....nothing from outside...
good luck...

I have this problem as well on my 90 GS. I was told it would be a slipping belt. It is inconsistent and annoying as all hell but I have yet to do anything about it. If it continues I will replace the belt and let you know if that helps....
