Just nevermind. Fine your more into fast thats fine, Im more into looks over speed. What ever its all the import community. Just tell me if it looks nice or not.
Well Nucence...I normally don't like to be overly critical of peoples cars, but since you ASKED, here is my honest opinion.
First of all, the Accord is a simple, chisled shape. That body kit is way too detailed, rounded and fussy. Doesn't belong with that car's styling theme at all. There is just too much "going on" in the aftermarket parts...I prefer smooth and seamless. The grill also looks like an unfinished gaping hole with a large gap around the perimiter. I prefer the stock grill. The big round lights don't really match the Accord either, but the are much more functional than small lights so that is a draw there (they look like they would belong more on a rally car though). They also look like the are pointing at the ground, although I'm pretty sure that is an illusion. The spoiler is tasteful. I like the rims...they give the car a unique "blacked-out" look, but I think they might look even better in silver or chrome....but hey! Unique counts for something.
Moving upward, I've never really been a fan or chrome window trim. I don't think it really fits with the "blacked out" look and it is just one more seam. I realize that trim may well be stock. I also don't understand the banner. It blocks sight lines, and what is "team xcel"? I thought you weren't into racing, so what sort of team is it? I can't tell what the side window stickers say, but again I don't think any stickers/banners at all fit in very well with your monochrome theme. I normally don't like clear taillights, but yours actually look pretty cool.
The interior is pretty clean and tasteful....looks a bit like the new WRX with the silver trim. Not sure if I like the steering wheel cover. I'm glad to see you have a 5-speed instead of an auto, but i don't think the wood shifter blends with the hi-tech looking silver. The speaker installation looks very flush....so you don't have to sacrifice the trunks utility. That's good. Did it displace the spare? Do you have run flat tires.
I'm sorry if you didn't hear what you wanted to hear, but you are the one who asked. I'm of the opinion that, in most cases, simpler/smoother is better. I think that just because you can modify something doesn't necessarily mean you should. Don't worry... it's still a good car though.

Im not trying to start a fight here or anything but............
Low_bias, sorry to say but I can accept what you say about my car and all but you must be very stupid!!!!!
-2 many aftermarket parts? What are you jealous cuz you aint got none!
-Chrome rims? Hell NO!
-Dont understand the banner? Its my car club, it doesnt block my sight lines.
-My color theme of my car is black, silver, and red. So the stickers do go good with the car, and if you notice they all match.
-Wood Shifter???? Man Open your eyes I dont have anything wood in my car!
-Yes I dont have a spare anymore in the trunk.
Sorry if you didnt hear what you wanted to hear!

No Apologies Nucence! You said exactly what I thought you would say! I was just trying to see if you were a rice boy (since your car is semi-border-line) and also trying to see how insecure you are. I can see you are VERY insecure and want to believe you didn't waste $$$ on your car. YOU did want to know "what we thought" and "...if the car looks good our bad". At least that's what you said you wanted. What you were really trying to do was show off and you were suprised that not everyone likes your car. I was really trying to be nice in my critique too. I don't even like that unpainted edge around your rims- it makes it look a bit like a 50 series whitewall. Don't like the painted part much either. In low light when you can't see the wheels decent shape, it just looks black....like an 85 caprice missing the wheel covers.
I never said the colors on your stickers don't match. I just don't think they look good being there at all. Only way I would put a sticker on my Accord would be if a sponser paid me to put it there.
I wasn't complaining about the QUANTITY of your after market parts either, but rather the quality. And why do you assume I'm "...jealous cuz (I) ain't got none"? I don't assume you are jealous because I own my own house at 23 instead of wasting my $ to uglify one of my cars. Your body kit, which takes up 6"-15" on the bottom of the car, has more curves, bends, and vents than the rest of the car put together. Thus, it doesn't blend well. More is not better...it only makes it look like an afterthought that wasn't very well thought out. You probably spent a pretty penny on that kit, too. At least you painted it and didn't paint it yellow or something.
I still don't understand why you call your club a team. What sort of event's do you team up in? That is really very clever and ungodly cool how you guys replaced the "ex" in excell with an "x" as well as deleting one of the L's. Amazing...you shortened a word and it still sounds the same!! You guys must be very intelligent....a bunch of regular Einstein's. We should all strive to be so cool
By the way...why don't you refrain from unbased personal insults in your posting? Being insulted by someone of your intellect really doesn't get a person of average or greater intelligence agitated and only goes to show your inmaturity. The way your post was going I thought you were going to tell my mom on me as well! When you insult someone, you should back it with facts. For instance, in this post I have insulted your intellect. I based this off of your posts. I'm sure your response to this post will only go further to show others reading this that it is not an unfounded insult. Calling someone stupid and leaving it at that is really countproductive on your part.
Oh yeah....sorry about the wood comment. That is one thing you were right about. It is red (like that is a lot better).

Damn....that was a quick reply...you must have been waiting for me! I'm glad I made you laugh. Your laughing makes me laugh too
And I'M the one who said you wouldn't care that I own my house, so thanks for confirming my thought. You must be very proud of your trophies...I'm sure they are very classy.
By better feedback, you mean they liked your car. I think your car is OK too...I just don't like your mods much
Why do you think I'm a "stupid little ricer"? Hell...I can't even afford any mods, right? That's OK though. You are just reacting like I said you would react in my last post.
If you want to believe your car is nothing close to rice, that is your choice. I agree it is not totally rice...that is why I said it was borderline. I think an overly swoopy body kit + stickers and a banner (what does your team do again) pushes you a little in that direction though. Plus you said yourself your all about looks and not performance, right? That is what rice is about. Don't get me wrong...I've seen much worse
My car is a bone-stock 1998 Accord LX (except for CD changer). It is bone stock because it is a nice, cleanly styled, well built, reliable, roomy, comfortable ECONO CAR!!! I like customized cars, but I modify my house instead of my car beacause my house appreciates and my car depreciates. I check this board occasionally to find out about various problems and fixes. I check a similar, but much better, board for my Jeep (www.naxja.org). I'm not concerned with the "import secne". I buy a car because I like it....import or not. Hell! Our Accords were built in Marysville Ohio! I've had a Celica, Supra, S-10, Saab 900 Turbo, Contour, Cheorkee, and Honda. If I wanted a performance car it wouldn't be an Accord (it would probably be a WRX, MR2, or Camaro)

Uhhh...I guess if it is OK with Nuscance. I never intended it to be a pissing match though...I was just answering his question. Do you think I was too harsh? Do you think I didn't answer his question? Seriously. I'm not sure why he got so agitated.
I first posted a tech question here months ago and I check once every few weeks since then. I just had a lot of free time today so i thought I'd answer this guy's question.

Low bias: Your answer to his question was a little rough. A simple "not my taste" would've done. You sorta pushed his buttons.
And nucence: You asked... they answered. Quit whining and defending.
That's my .08 cents.

Yeah Luder...I suppose I did that on purpose. I saw his kurt response to the all go, no show comment. I can identify with wanting to go fast while keeping a low profile. But then I saw him say he didn't care what he thought even though I know he did (he asked!) I wasn't particularly impressed with his car either, so I thought I'd tell him what I thought knowing it would get to him.
And nuscance...now that I think of it your car is definitely rice...just a mild version of it. A rice boy is someone who takes an econo-car (usually an import brand) and TRIES TO make it look like a sports car while ignoring that pesky detail of actually making to PERFORM like a sports car. All show no go. Sheep in wolves clothes. You said yourself you were more concerned with appearance. The really bad ones start with an old POS and really go wild with the stickers, wings, and ugly colors. Then they go out and act like complete jerks and think their car walks on water. Thus, your car is mildly riced on both counts.

Ok I bought my car for the way it looks, knowing it wasnt gonna be able to make it fast.
I have done all the bult ons I can possibly do to make it faster and handle better.
Like I said before You know nothing about putting mods on a car.
Your just like an old person that doesnt like it, you dont know anything about it.
Whatever, Its all good if you dont like my ricey ****.
You know what, Im gonna sell it anywase and buy myself a jeep!

Ahhh man! No need to sell it....gets you trophies, right? My Honda is of better quality and refinement than my Jeep. Jeeps are pretty sparten unless you get a grand cheorkee.
What do I have to know about putting mods on a car? Your just adding body parts and stickers, right? Pretty simple it seems. Even if it wasn't, you were just asking how it looks, right? I do know a thing or two about cars though. For my senior project in mechanical engineering I designed, built, tested, and raced the rear suspension on an SAE Mini Baja car, so don't think I'm car-stupid or anything.
Also, how does not liking your mods make me like an old person? I just turned 24 forchristsakes! I was into the whole airdam/lights/body kit thing with my first car (my S-10) too...just didn't have the money to do much back then, especially as my stereo was stolen multiple times. The "mini-truck" scene isn't much different than the "import scene", so I know more about it than you might think.
I don't like rice, but like I said...your car is pretty mild. I wouldn't sell it if I were you. Just know it doesn't appeal to everyone. If you like it (which I'm sure you do since your the one who modded it), then keep it.
-Adam
P.S. By newbie, he meant new to the board, not new to cars. We both have 9 posts, making us both newbies (although my first post was about 6 months ago)
