Recaro SRD + Acura factory alarm unit --> Where can I affix it?
I recently purchased a Recaro SRD from Mark at OnTrack Performance (great service) and am in the process of installing it. The problem is that the Acura factory alarm is bolted to the underside of the seat. The Recaro doesn't have any hardware on the bottom. What have you guys done in this scenario? Velcro piggyback straps? I'm open to your ideas.
Thanks,
Eddie.

are all factory alarms like this?
Sounds like you don't have the real factory alarm, or someone modified it. Best thing to do would be to put the alarm under the carpet.

just stick it to the carpet with velcro
factory alarms are gigantic boxes bolted to the bottom of the driver seat.

I'd say you have 3 options...
1: velcro alarm to seatbottom
2: do as sgt says and velcro the alarm to the carpet
3: do as I did and make a bracket that attaches to the alarm and then bolts to one of the seat rail bolts.
Really though, it's not that big a deal. I'd just velcro it to the carpet if I were you.

Austin,
It is the factory alarm and is about the size of two DVDs stacked on top of one another. The main problem is that there is no hardware or holes on the bottom of the new Recaro seat.
madslackin,
Would you happen to have a picture of the bracket that you fabricated? Or can you describe how I could put it together? Thanks.

Mine's not. The stock driver's seat is in my garage and I still have a functional factory alarm (I didn't modify anything). Maybe only the older factory alarms were like this? I have a 2001.
