Wheel spacers and auto-x
OK, this isn't specifically honda related but it's actually for my Impreza...
But, I'm putting 225 victoracers on for auto-x and they rub the rear struts pretty bad. I'm gonna roll the rear inner fender and put spacers on to get some more clearance.
So here's the question: How do spacers work exactly? Do you just slip them over the hub and the studs and they just sit there, or are they more involved? Meaning, could I put them on and take them off as needed or am I gonna have to get new, longer studs? The spacers don't need to be that large, maybe 5mm or so.
Thanks for humoring a non honda question.

I ran 5mm H&R spacers on my ITR and I never installed the included extended studs. For spacers any thicker I would swap the studs, but I had enough bite on the OEM studs that I didn't need anything longer. As for install, they just slip onto the studs right before you install the wheel. They are held in place by being squashed between the wheel and the rotor. The H&R spacers fit like a glove and I was very pleased.
My only problem with the H&R spacers is that they fit like a SUPER TIGHT glove. I haven't been able to get mine off. But the quality of the spacers are really nice (but you do pay for the quality !!)

I use 3mm spacers and you just put them on the hub and put the wheel over top. When using spacers though (like mine) you want at least 7-8 full turns of your lugs for proper engagement. I got 8.
