New Prototype ITR vdo (Best Motoring)
Dave-ROR: thank you so much for sending me the vdo of the proto ITR (along w/ the other g00dies)
Here are Gansan's (not from this board, but the BM test driver) 3 main likes:
1) Stiffer chassis/body
2) More low end torque and it's really flat so it's much easier to use
3) The 6sp gear box has just the right gearing which makes the car really fun to drive
The Chief Engr stated that the first ITR was a "tuned" GSR. For the 2nd gen ITR, however, it was designed to be a Type R from the get go. They improved everything possible and the basic target was to be at least 1 sec quicker around the Tsukuba Circuit than the 1st gen ITR.
If j00 f00z haven't seen it yet, there are some sweet shots of the car going around Honda's test track in Northern Japan. Honda designed the track to be very similiar to Germany's Nurgurgring.
I'll go watch again later and translate more interesting chit...
yoshi - who's off to lunch s00n, but can't wait to get back to watch the vdo again!
